Metals Analysis (EPA Methods)
This test screens your product for a panel of heavy metals and other metals using ICP-MS under the EPA 200 and EPA 245 methods, which are widely recognized and validated procedures originally developed for water analysis. We use these methods because they are well-established, sensitive, and designed to minimize interference from different sample types.
USP <232/233> Class 1: Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury
USP <232/233> Class 2a: Cobalt, Nickel, Vanadium
USP <232/233> Class 2b: Silver, Selenium, Thallium
USP <232/233> Class 3: Antimony, Barium, Chromium, Copper
Other: Aluminum, Beryllium, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Potassium, Sodium, Zinc
The following elements are missing that would be tested under USP <232/233>:
Class 2b: Gold, Iridium, Osmium, Palladium, Platinum, Rhodium, Ruthenium
Class 3: Lithium, Tin
NOTE: While these methods were developed for water testing, they are commonly applied to many other sample types (including pharmaceutical and consumer products). Additional controls are included to account for potential interference from the sample matrix.
